WHERE CAN WE FIND WISDOM?
It has been said that a wise man learns by the
experience of others; an ordinary man learns by his own experience; and a fool
learns by nobody’s experience. Just in
case someone is thinking that tangible success and prosperity are synonymous with
wisdom, please think again. My friend, you
don’t have to be listed in Who’s Who to know what’s what.
I love the way J. I. Packer describes wisdom in his
book, “Knowing God.” He writes, “wisdom
is the power to see and the inclination to choose the best and highest goal,
together with the surest means of attaining it.” That statement leads us to the indisputable
conclusion that the only reliable and constant source of wisdom is our
Creator.
Listen to the Word:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and
comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation
or shadow of turning.” (James 1:17) “The
wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without
hypocrisy.” (James 3:17)
Our Lord is the all-wise sovereign Savior. Talk to Him – and in the quiet moments of
your heart, listen.
Sisters and brothers, be continually blessed, and
please (above all else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO MEET OUR SOON COMING KING.
Maranatha!
