YOU CAN (AND YOU WILL) MAKE IT!

YOU CAN (AND YOU WILL) MAKE IT!

I feel impressed by the Holy Spirit to reach out to SOMEONE who is desperately searching for peace, comfort and solutions to simply declare this: “By the grace and power of ALMIGHTY GOD…YOU WILL MAKE IT!”  My friend, do not allow the shadows of your circumstances to dim THE LIGHT OF CHRIST in your world.

Know this: THE CREATOR has designed YOU for this situation and this season.  HE is always at work behind the scenes.  And even though you may not be able to trace His hand, you may completely trust His heart.  HE loves you.  HE is ordering your steps.  Therefore, NOTHING can (or will) be able to stand in your way to permanently derail you or your forward progress.

Do you need scriptural confirmation?  Listen (with your spirit) to THE WORD:

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17)

Now thanks be unto God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the fragrance of his knowledge…in every place. (II Corinthians 2:14)

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. (Hebrews 10:35)

BE ENCOURAGED...RIGHT HERE…RIGHT NOW.  BECAUSE YOU CAN (AND YOU WILL) MAKE IT!

UNYIELDING HOPE

UNYIELDING HOPE

A friend once hastily approached, loudly shouting “I’M HOPPING MAD!”  He was outraged at the attitude and comments of a co-worker.  I paused to reflect for a moment, then decided to gently challenge him.  I asked, “Why don’t you decide right now to REFOCUS YOUR FEELINGS about this?  Never give another person that much power and control over your day.  Instead of being “HOPPING MAD,” why don’t you make up your mind to be “HOPING GLAD?  I’m talking about HOPE!”

Hearing this, he smiled faintly, and remarked, “That’s sounds pretty corny, brother, but I feel you on this.  I refuse to HOP through this day in anger.  Instead, I will HOPE for what’s better!”  At that point, a genuine smile surfaced and literally transformed his countenance and experience.

A word of advice: ALWAYS CHOOSE HOPE!  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. writes, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose INFINITE HOPE.”  More importantly, GOD declares, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you…thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a FUTURE and a HOPE.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Prayerfully meditate on the following scriptures, and if needed, give yourself an attitude adjustment.

Psalm 119:49 (NKJV)
Remember the word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope.

Psalm 130:5 (NKJV)
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I do hope.

Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV)
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Romans 15:4 (NKJV)
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

MAINTAINING BALANCE

MAINTAINING BALANCE

Every day, believers live with hope and peace that stems from maintaining balance and perspective.  Jesus Christ admonishes us, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (Matthew 6:34, NKJV) When we make the deliberate decision to live worry-free, we are (at the same time) making the choice to live stress-free.  This does not mean that it will be impossible for negative circumstances or events to knock at our doors.  Rather, it informs us that we have definite choices as to how we will respond.

It reminds me of the story of a poor farmer who lived near a forest in a remote village.  This farmer had a beautiful white horse, the most magnificent stallion.  The farmer’s thoroughbred stallion was in high demand and many merchants offered huge amounts of money to buy it.

His villager friends became terribly excited at the farmer’s good prospects.  “You are so blessed to own such a valuable horse!” they smiled.

The farmer calmly replied, “It is true that my horse may be a blessing.  But we cannot say how things will turn out because nobody knows exactly what will happen on tomorrow.”

The villagers did not care for his passive response.

One day the farmer’s horse disappeared.  The villagers banded together and searched everywhere, but could not find the missing stallion.  The villagers criticized the farmer.  “You should have sold that horse when you had the chance,” they insisted.  “It is a terrible curse that your horse has now been stolen.”

The farmer calmly replied, “It is true that my horse is missing.  But we cannot say how things will turn out because nobody knows exactly what will happen on tomorrow.”

Of course, the villagers frowned at his response.  They could not believe that the farmer had lost such a priceless possession and seemed not to be upset about it.

After a few days, to the great surprise of the villagers, the missing stallion galloped home and brought a dozen white horses from the forest with him.  The surprised villagers gathered around the farmer and said, “You are so blessed. You loved that horse so much, and that’s why he brought these horses home with him.”

The farmer calmly replied, “It is true that my stallion brought a dozen more horses to me.  But we cannot say whether it is a blessing or not, because nobody knows exactly what will happen on tomorrow.”

By now, the villagers thought the farmer was certifiably crazy.  He had received a dozen free horses, and still he could not see that this was a tremendous blessing.

One day, the farmer’s young son was riding one of the newly arrived horses.  Suddenly, he fell from the horse, breaking both of his legs.  The villagers arrived quickly to console the farmer.  They said, “We are really sorry for you.  It is such a curse that your only son has now been handicapped.”

The farmer calmly replied, “It is true that my son may be handicapped, but we cannot say whether it is a curse or a blessing because nobody knows exactly what will happen on tomorrow.”

At that point, the villagers got really angry and shouted, “This farmer has no sense at all!”

After a few months, the king of a neighboring country attacked the farmer’s homeland, and his country seemed to be losing the battle.  In an effort to win, the king mandated that all young men join the army and fight against the enemy.  His royal summons excluded handicapped persons.

The villagers were all in terrible grief since their sons were required to join in the battle.  They thought of the possibility that they might never see them again.  They walked over to the farmer’s house and said, “You are a blessed man.  At least you know that you son will remain alive.”

But the farmer calmly replied, “I am certainly happy my son will not fight in this war, but we cannot say whether it is a curse or a blessing because nobody knows exactly what will happen on tomorrow.”

The wise old farmer gave that same, calm, balanced reply for the rest of his life.

What can we glean from this story?  That it is expedient for every believer to maintain balance and perspective, regardless of prevailing circumstances.  One divine truth that produces hope and peace is simply this: GOD IS ALWAYS PRESENT, significantly and substantively, in the lives of His sons and daughters. (Psalm 46:1) Therefore, we need never surrender to doubt or despair – for we know that JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH is there. (Ezekiel 48:35) Resolve now to cast all your cares upon HIM. (I Peter 5:7)

DISAPPOINTMENT IS A TEACHER

DISAPPOINTMENT IS A TEACHER

A while back, I came across a short anecdote that caused me to reflect on the up-and-down nature of the human condition and our best response to it.

A husband got into a bit of trouble on his wedding anniversary.  The morning before the anniversary, his wife beamed a bright smile at him and announced, “Tomorrow there will be something in the driveway for me that goes from zero to one hundred in just two seconds.”

The next morning the wife went outside and found a beautiful box in the driveway.  She opened it and discovered a pink bathroom scale.  She was not at all amused.

Disappointments do happen.

Throughout this journey called life, all of us will experience and learn to navigate disappointments.  Those smile-evaporating experiences could be encountered anywhere – virtually everywhere.

Since disappointment is an inevitable component of life, why not make up your mind to glean and learn from it?  Instead of becoming despondent or depressed, why not petition GOD for the PRACTICAL WISDOM needed to transform your life’s sour lemons into refreshing lemonade?

It’s the encouraging lesson of Romans 8:28, “We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

It’s the heart and soul of my life-verse, which says, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)

Don’t keep dwelling on your present situation.  Surely life has taught you by now that this is only temporary.  Prepare for tomorrow by trusting the Lord today.  DESTINY IS CALLING.  Can’t you hear it?  Your flow is in your future, not in your past.

Sisters and brothers, be continually blessed, and please (above all else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO MEET OUR SOON COMING KING. Maranatha!

GREET TROUBLE WITH A SMILE!

GREET TROUBLE WITH A SMILE!

It is imperative that you continue to pursue the unique character and calling that God planned for your life long before the foundation of the world and endowed at your birth. (Ephesians 1:4 – Jeremiah 29:11) Sisters and brothers, we must learn to greet challenges and obstacles with genuine smiles.  James, the brother of Jesus, admonishes us to “count it all joy” when trials and oppositions knock at the door.  Our spiritual perspective, i.e. THE WORD, teaches us that PURPOSE is always resident in problems, pressures and pain.

James 1:2-4 (NKJV)
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

So, count it all joy!  God has a reason for this season.  OPPOSITION will come.  Without question, it will manifest as an organic and expected reality of life.  However, “OPPOSITION” is a fascinating reality, a most intriguing word.  Let’s examine it more closely.  OP–POSITION, also known as OPERATION–POSITION, is not a blessing-blocker, even though it typically looks and feels like it. Remember this: CONTRARY WINDS position us for forward progress. They become gusts in our sails that transport us to divine purpose and destiny.

Smile.  Relax.  Rejoice.  Be glad.  GOD’S got your back!  And HE will somehow reconfigure and reposition every circumstance (no matter how it looks or what your five senses are shouting) to enable, empower and position you for victory.  The last paragraph on the last page in the last chapter of the last Bible book says this: “YOU WIN!”  Therefore, get your mind off what YOU SEE and focus on what GOD SAYS.  “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (II Corinthians 5:7)

As you resolve to do this, i.e. to practice the presence of the Lord, YOUR SPIRITUAL SENSE will continually impart a personal, powerful and productive awareness of the promises and plans of Almighty God.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
And we KNOW that ALL THINGS work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Today, we will greet unexpected troubles with confidence and smiles.  In truth, they are DESTINY-DEVELOPERS, not the blessing-blockers that they appear to be.

Sisters and brothers, be continually blessed, and please (above all else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO MEET OUR SOON COMING KING. Maranatha!

WHO AM I? WHAT REALLY MATTERS?

WHO AM I?  WHAT REALLY MATTERS?

To effectively navigate the twisting and tortuous turns in the stream of human existence, it is necessary to have a sure and steadfast knowledge of one’s identity and purpose.  I love Pierre Teilhard de Chardin’s perspective on this issue.  He wrote, “We are not HUMAN BEINGS having a spiritual experience.  We are SPIRITUAL BEINGS having a human experience.”

Do you need proof?  The Word declares that, at the dawn of creation of man, “GOD created man IN HIS OWN IMAGE.” (Genesis 1:27) Furthermore, it is universally understood that “GOD IS A SPIRIT.” (John 4:24) To wit, God designed us to be far more spiritual than material at the very core of our being.

The question is begged: ‘Why, then, do we have the tendency to emphasize and engage more so in NATURAL MATTERS, rather than SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCES?’

The Apostle Paul admonishes us to retain a strong spiritual focus while existing on this earthly plain.  “If then you were raised with Christ, SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE ABOVE, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.” (Colossians 3:1) Jesus Christ poses a related strategic question, which also serves as a powerful warning: “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)

Now hear this!  Always remember that you are MORE than your career, your place of residence, your wardrobe, your academic degrees, or anything you can achieve or perceive with your five senses.  YOU WERE MADE FOR HIGHER PURPOSES.  YOU WERE CREATED TO HONOR, SERVE AND WORSHIP GOD.  So, it is imperative that you discover the HEAVENLY MEANING in every earthly matter.  In other words, don’t ever allow what counts in eternity to become lost in the temporary affairs of life.

Stay focused.

ON FATHER'S DAY...LET'S CELEBRATE FATHERS

ON FATHER’S DAY…LET’S CELEBRATE FATHERS

Two days hence, we celebrate FATHER’S DAY.  I am always pleased (and pleasantly surprised) to read the plethora of Facebook posts celebrating fathers, replete with nostalgic photos, poems and personal statements flowing from heartfelt feelings and relationships.  Additionally, I read numerous posts celebrating single mothers, who purportedly ‘served as fathers’ to their children due to the absence of a male father figure.

During our church services, one man reiterated this point of view, celebrating not only men, but the women who have ‘filled in to serve as fathers.’  While I have tremendous appreciation and respect for every woman who has had to go it alone, at the risk of sounding a bit chauvinistic, to each of those celebratory expressions about ‘female fatherhood,’ I say “NONSENSE!”

What intrigues me about these kinds of statements is the simple fact that I have NEVER heard anyone celebrating ‘fathers who filled in’ on Mother’s Day.  Think about it.  As impossible as it is for a man to serve as a mother, it is equally impossible for a woman to be a father.  Indeed, to say that a mother can serve as a father is an oxymoron.

So on FATHER’S DAY, let’s CELEBRATE DEDICATED AND EXEMPLARY FATHERS – certainly not deadbeat dads, who deserve none of the time, attention, or oxygen of that special day, and not even single mothers who have given and sacrificed so much.

WHY ARE FATHERS SO IMPORTANT?  The Biblical record reflects a strategic plan by Satan to systematically undermine and destroy fatherhood.  Our archenemy has never abandoned his plan, and it is in full bloom today.  Please pay attention to the media.  Subtle and not-so-subtle messages continuously serve to erode or degrade male-hood and father-hood.  Think about it.

When fathers are either absent or negligent in the nurture and care of their children, negative possibilities abound.  From their fathers, young girls not only learn to genuinely give and receive love, to and from a male partner, they also derive their sense of self and security from their fathers.  And, whether positive or negative, they tend to seek partners, consciously or unconsciously, who in some sense resemble their fathers.  Thus, poor father role models unwittingly invite the invasion of devastating potentialities in their daughters’ future life choices.  Likewise, young boys desperately need their fathers’ guidance and mentorship (as practicing male apprentices) so they can learn what it truly means to be a man, a husband, a father, a family leader and a provider. Every boy born on the planet truly needs the resolute and firm hand of discipline that comes from his father.

My own Dad, the late BISHOP JOSEPH EDISON BASS, SR., was AN EXTRAORDINARY FATHER to ten children.  He was an exceptional human being in every way: focused, committed, diligent, hard-working and loving.  He was a progressive man, with a crystal-clear vision of what he should accomplish to foster the growth, development and success of his children.  He consistently motivated us to embrace education and to become life-long learners.

But more than that, OUR FATHER WAS AN EXTRAORDINARY ROLE MODEL.  Never ever did Dad spend a night away from home, unless it was attending a church convention with our mother.  Our father never drank alcohol.  He never smoked cigarettes.  He never used drugs.  He never chased women.  He never used profanity.  None of these were ever present in our home environment.  In every sense of the word, Dad was a superb role model.

Dad was also A PRAYING MAN, and many evenings he would kneel and pray with his family.  As our pastor, he also LED US TO CHRIST and he was A MASTER TEACHER AND PREACHER of the Word of God.  Born in 1904 in rural Georgia, Dad lacked educational opportunity and only acquired a few years of elementary education.  But you would never have known it due to the high quality of his ministry skills, his keen ability to memorize scripture, to elucidate and articulate the Word with such an awesome depth of revelation and anointing.  Having an insatiable thirst for ministry knowledge and excellence, Dad read voraciously, studied diligently and became an ACCOMPLISHED BIBLE SCHOLAR AND THEOLOGIAN.

Dad established clear boundaries for us, and he was a disciplinarian of the highest order, tolerating no deviation from firm family rules.  But even though he was stern man, our Dad also had an abiding sense of humor, a contagious laugh and a smile that lit up our home.

So often, I miss him – those private breakfast talks we had in his favorite restaurant (at his expense), his ministry advice and admonitions, his humorous stories, even the way he stood with impeccable posture, or the way he walked, the unique movements of his arms and shoulders, and yes, even his candid correction when I needed personal realignment.

Thank you, Dad.  Thank you so much.  We will see you in The Rapture.

Whoever your father is or was, however close or distant the relationship, you must honor him.  It is the first commandment with promise. (Exodus 2:12)

EL SIMCHATH GILI

EL SIMCHATH GILI

Each day I awaken with the comforting assurance that GOD is El Simchath Gili, “my exceeding joy.”  In the poetic lyrics of the Psalmist David, “I go unto the altar of God, unto GOD MY EXCEEDING JOY.” (Psalm 43:4)

It is my delight, indeed it is my privilege and pleasure, to begin and end every day, every month, every year, every decade of my life, with the unshakable awareness that MY JOY ultimately resides in CHRIST JESUS.

Remember this?  JOY is not the equivalency of happiness, which is conditional and transitive.  JOY is the assurance that CHRIST is at the center of my circumstances.

Why should you walk through every day with JOY?  Because, according to The Holy Writ, “with JOY you shall draw water from the wells of salvation.” (Isaiah 12:3) Therefore, even in a tempestuous and troubled time, we reject any human tendency to surrender to doubt or despair.  Rather, we will “COUNT IT ALL JOY” as we deploy absolute faith in our good, gracious and great GOD to carry us through. (James 1:2)

My friend, the written will of our Lord and Savior is simply this: “That MY JOY may remain in you, and that YOUR JOY may be full.” (John 15:1) Erase your frown.  Eradicate your worry.  Make THE JOY DECISION – which is not based on present conditions or circumstances.

THINGS AREN'T ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM

THINGS AREN’T ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM

I truly love a story to be shared today because it a clear reflection of Romans 8:28, which declares, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”  Sometimes, our greatest apparent catastrophes are intervening miracles.  It’s one of the most practical reasons I know for eliminating worry from our daily lives.

God’s got our backs, appearances notwithstanding.  Whenever I arrive at what ‘feels’ like a low point, I ask myself a most important question: ‘Has GOD ever failed?’  After prayerful reflection, the answer is always a resounding “NO!”  And I am then transported (immediately) to a place of praise and power.  Try it; because it truly works!

As today’s story goes, two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family.  That family was rather rude and refused to allow the angels to stay in one of the mansion’s many guest rooms.  Instead, the angels were provided a very modest space in a cold basement.  As they made their beds on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it forthwith.  When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, “Things aren’t always what they seem.”

The next night the angelic duo came to rest at the house of a farmer and his wife, who were quite poor, but welcoming, warm and hospitable.  After sharing what little food they had, the couple insisted that the angels sleep in their bed so they could have a good night’s rest.  When the sun rose the next morning, the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears.  Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the pasture.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel “How could you have let this happen!?  The other man had everything, yet you helped him,” the angel apprentice accused.  “This family had so little, but willing to share everything, and you let their cow die.”

“Things aren’t always what they seem,” the older angel insisted.  “When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall.  Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his blessings, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it.  Last night, as we slept in the farmer’s bed, the angel of death came for his wife.  I gave him the cow instead.  You see, things aren’t always what they seem!”

Sometimes this is exactly the situation when things don’t appear to turn out the way we think they should.  If we have faith in God, we learn to trust that every outcome in life is always to our advantage.  We might not know it until sometime later because “THINGS AREN’T ALWAYS WHAT THEY SEEM.”

Your word for today is simply this: DON’T WORRY.  Our God, who cannot lie, declares “I will supply all your need…according to My riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

THE GREATEST CHALLENGE OF ALL

THE GREATEST CHALLENGE OF ALL

This past Sunday, we celebrated “National Children’s Day” in the USA.  Admittedly, raising children is no easy task.  At various and sundry times, parenting results in frayed dispositions, utter exhaustion, graying hair and sheer frustration.  Nevertheless, it is the ultimate act of sacrificial love which, since time immemorial, has breathed unlimited joy and fulfillment into the lives of its blessed participants.

Unfortunately, there is no how-to-do-it book that effectively and accurately addresses every practical aspect of parenting.  Child rearing is definitely an on-the-job training venue, definitely a learn-as-you-go-and-grow enterprise!  However, wise persons seek counsel from their predecessors.

Of course, there are those who look at it from the ‘outside’ and feel they have somehow mastered all the necessities and nuances of parenting.  But every EXPERIENCED PARENT can croon in chorus to them: “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?”  Parenting takes continuous work and a major, serious, lifetime commitment.  The following brief illustration of a young minister who thought he had parenting all figured out is rather amusing.

When this young minister was still single, he preached a sermon entitled, “RULES for Raising Children.” After he got married and had children of his own, he changed the title of the sermon to “SUGGESTIONS for Raising Children.”  And when his children got to be teenagers, he STOPPED PREACHING ON THAT SUBJECT ALTOGETHER!  Can we say, REALITY set in?  [Smile]!

The early childhood years virtually fly by, at least in hindsight.  Yet, while we are engaged in raising our younger children, it does not always FEEL that way.  Tiny tots can be incredibly hyper, loud, mobile, demanding and self-absorbed.  So, we must constantly summon large measures of enthusiasm, energy and enlightenment to proficiently perform this important task.  Central pillars of parental stewardship are as follows: shaping family and social values, molding intellects, motivating respect for lifelong learning, teaching social graces and (of course) inspiring a reverential and abiding love for The Creator.

WHATEVER YOU DO…DON’T YOU DARE GIVE UP!

My children are all grown now, but as a young parent, I enjoyed playing with them, engaging their minds, experiencing diverse cultural events and nurturing their spirits.  However, looking back, all of us older parents wish we had shared more time and given more attention to their developmental needs, especially during those critical formative years.  There’s a lesson here for younger parents.

What do the scriptures say on this subject?  I believe they strongly suggest that FAMILY is the basic building block in the KINGDOM OF GOD.  Of course, MARRIAGE is the basic building block in the family since all members are well served when the covenant-bearers at the top are walking in lockstep with God, who is love.  Nevertheless, CHILDREN are indispensable components in His divine plan.

Lo, CHILDREN ARE AN HERITAGE OF THE LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

So how must we handle God’s “HERITAGE?”  Just how serious is this business of raising our children?  Bottom-line: It is a matter of life or death.  What we do with our children today, i.e. the decisions we make, the guidance we provide, the precepts we model and the love we share will strongly resonate throughout time and eternity.  Think about it.  Our choices, attitudes and actions will not only affect the lives of our children, but they also impact the destiny of our grandchildren and their respective families.  If we are faithful and diligent, we have divine assurances that GOD will bless and endow our efforts.

Proverbs 22:6
TRAIN UP A CHILD in the way he should go: and when he is old, HE WILL NOT DEPART FROM IT.

Indeed, parenting might be the greatest challenge of all.  But remember: Eventually, our children will bless us.  It might not seem so apparent today.  But sooner or later, our children become our friends, our companions, and perhaps even our caretakers.  So, raise them right.  Treat them right.  Love them right.  Talk to them; listen to them; learn with (and from) them.  Great will be your reward in this life and in the world to come.  Never forget: It is entirely possible that YOU ARE NOW TEACHING YOUR CHILDREN HOW TO DEAL WITH YOU in your latter years!

GOD'S WORD

GOD’S WORD

Today’s devotional is the inspirational Word of the Lord.

Psalm 24
1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters.
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face. Selah
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah
