Life is loaded with diamonds,
at least for those who are aware enough and conscientious enough to seek, see
and seize them. However, your search will require perspective, a vital component of
success in any arena of life. Simply put, perspective is the art of discovering lemonade in any
load of lemons. Albert Einstein subscribed to such an optimistic
worldview, so he stated that “In the middle of every difficulty lies
opportunity.” An ancient Chinese proverb that I love says it this way:
“Every crisis has two heads, one of danger and one of opportunity.” My
friend, it’s all about perspective!
For additional insight into this truth, check out the following
story and commentary by Pastor Steve Goodier:
Several years ago, I spoke at church about how we
are surrounded by “diamonds,” if we could only recognize them. A man
stopped by to see me. I remembered him as someone who was suffering
through a painful divorce and was reexamining his life’s priorities. His
outstretched hand contained a small plastic gem stone.
“I stepped on this gem stone when I was leaving church last Sunday,” he explained. “It became lodged in the sole of my shoe. You had spoken about recognizing opportunities as diamonds. So, I put the plastic stone in my pocket to remind me to look for those real-life diamonds that I desperately need.
“I’ve been trying to sell my business,” he continued. On Monday morning, a man stopped by who seemed interested in purchasing some of my stock. I thought, ‘Here’s my diamond – I can't let it get away!’ And I sold him my entire stock by noon!
“Now,” he exclaimed through a broad smile, “my next diamond is to find a new job!”
Not long afterward, he did find a new and better job. He resolved to keep that gem stone with him, from then on, as a reminder to look for diamonds while digging through the difficulties of life.
According to Richard DeVos, “This is an exciting world, one which is cram-packed with opportunity. Great moments await us around every corner.” Fact is, those moments are diamonds that, if left unrecognized, could be lost forever.
Are you looking for your diamonds every day? If you’re not paying attention, you might easily pass them by! Perhaps there is a diamond of opportunity hidden in the overwhelming difficulty you’re now experiencing.

Amen, Pastor Goodier, Amen! Lesson learned:
As we resolve to seek and discover our authentic diamonds, i.e. the people,
situations and things that GOD labels as such, we will surely arrive at the
very center of God’s will, the place of His power and His provision.
Sisters and brothers, be continually blessed, and please (above all
else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO MEET OUR SOON COMING KING. Maranatha!
