THE EYES OF LOVE
A grandmother and a
little girl whose face was sprinkled with bright red freckles spent the day at
the zoo. The children were waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by
a local artist who was decorating them with tiger paws.
“You've got so many
freckles, there's no place to paint!” one boy in the line behind her teased.
Embarrassed, the
little girl dropped her head and frowned. Her grandmother immediately
knelt down next to her. “I love your freckles,” she said ever so
lovingly.
“Not me,” the
little girl replied with genuine self-disappointment.
“Well, when I was a
little girl I always wanted freckles,” Grandma said, tracing her finger gently
over the child’s cheeks. “Freckles are simply beautiful!”
The girl looked up.
“Really?” she wondered hopefully.
“Of course!” said
the grandmother. “Why, just name me one thing that’s prettier than
freckles!”
The little girl
peered for a moment into her old grandmother’s smiling face. “Wrinkles,” she answered softly and with
a radiant smile.
Lesson #1: Love begets love. Lesson #2: There is nothing
more beautiful or more fulfilling than the
unconditional love of a grandchild.
For sure, Belinda and I know. We
have 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
And what an absolute JOY
they are!
Sisters and brothers, be continually blessed, and please
(above all else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO MEET OUR SOON COMING KING.
Maranatha!
