It is
quite likely that you possess far more worth than others might typically imagine
or ascribe. Therefore, when you have given all that you have to give, try
your best to mute the careless commentary of the crowd. Instead, tune in to
Heaven’s affirmations about your identity and importance.
In 17th century
France, a scholar by the name of Muretus had fallen ill. Oddly enough, he
presented himself to medical doctors purposefully garbed in the rags of the
poor. Unaware that he was an educated man, the doctors discussed his case
in Latin, thinking he would be unable to understand. “Faciamus
experimentum in anima vili,” one physician suggested, which means “Let us try an
experiment with this worthless creature.”
Imagine their shock when this apparent ‘pauper’ replied (also in Latin),
“Vilem animam appellas pro qua Christus non dedignatus est mori?”
Translation: “Will you call one worthless for whom Christ did not disdain to
die?”
AMEN!
My
friend, any appearances notwithstanding, YOU
aRE WORTH SO MUCH MORE.
Indeed,
your value is predicated (only) on THE
ONE who sacrificially died and victoriously rose to endow your
redemption, justification and eternal life. Always be mindful of
constructive criticism, but stop browsing endlessly through ‘The Majority
Report.’ Sometimes it isn’t an accurate
assessment, and often it doesn’t reflect the perspective of Heaven. Instead,
listen intently and intentionally to what your Creator has to say: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says
the Lord, thoughts of
peace and not of evil, to give you a
future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Sisters and brothers,
be continually blessed and please (above all else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO
MEET YOUR SOON COMING KING. Maranatha!
