IT IS WELL!

IT IS WELL!

 

One of my favorite hymns, entitled “It is Well with My Soul,” was composed in 1873 by Horatio G. Spafford.   I thought it would be inspirational to ‘sing’ it along with you.  Take courage, my sisters and brothers, your current circumstances notwithstanding.  YOU are who GOD says you are, not others, not your conditions, not your circumstances, not your careers or bank accounts, and certainly not your problems, pains, trials, or troubles.  Prayerfully reflect on that, and sing these inspirational, scripture-based lyrics with me:

 

When peace like a river attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

 

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

 

May the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit surround and sustain you, now and evermore.
