THE MORNING SUN

My favorite worship chorus contains lyrics that always stir my spirit:

 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,

His mercies never come to an end;

They are new every morning, new every morning,

Great is Thy faithfulness, Oh Lord,

Great is Thy faithfulness.

 This song conveys the hopeful message that every dawn brings on new possibilities (and absolute certainty) that THE CREATOR will manifest His mercy, grace and generosity toward us in wonderfully loving and unexpected ways.

 Jeremiah originated the message and meaning of the above worship chorus: “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)

 Solomon confirmed it with these words: “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” (Proverbs 4:18)

 I affirm it with a simple declaration of faith: “No matter what today brings, I TRUST JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH to be there.  The manifestation of His presence and power is just as sure at the appearance of the morning sun.”

 JESUS CHRIST is indeed THE DAYSTAR, or the morning sun. (II Peter 1:19)  We trust confidently in His promises, power and provision.
