TO BELIEVE OR NOT BELIEVE?
Upon completion of his studies at Fisk, Harvard and the University of Berlin, W.E.B. DuBois, the renowned African-American educator, sociologist and historian was convinced that change in the condition of American blacks would be effected by careful scientific investigation into the truth about their socio-economic status. So he proceeded with flawless research that included objective data, graphs and charts. After waiting several years and hearing not the slightest stir of real reform, Dr. DuBois had to accept one challenging fact about truth. Its availability does not necessarily mean that it will be appropriated and accepted.
Similarly, although the gospel of Jesus Christ is presented with tremendous insight and clarity, many continue to reject its apparent truths and hold fast to self-serving personal views. Our God always allows freedom of choice for His highest creation, humankind. My friend, what have you chosen? “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
