OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART
The
early church leader, Augustine, was challenged by an unbeliever who held up his
idol and said, “Here is my god; where is thine?” Augustine replied, “I cannot
show you my God; not because there is no God to show, but because you have no
eyes to see Him.”
I love the lyrics of a praise chorus that seeks for the grace of ‘seeing’ Jesus Christ as He really is:
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord,
Open the eyes of my heart;
I want to see You,
I want to see You.
My friends, when we have eyes to see…we will.
