QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION

QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION!

The times in which we live require believers to be “steadfast and unmovable.” (I Corinthians 15:58)  In the words of the Apostle Paul, “take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all…stand.” (Ephesians 6:13)  Jesus Christ issues a similarly sobering challenge to all his followers: “If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed.” (John 8:31)

The inspirational lyrics of Pastor Donnie McClurkin’s popular gospel song echo this message:

STAND

What do you do when you’ve done all you can
And it seems like it’s never enough?
And what do you say when your friends turn away
And you’re all alone, all alone?
Tell me what do you give when you’ve given your all
And it seems you can’t make it through?
You just stand when there nothing left to do,
You just stand, watch the lord see you through,
Yes, after you’ve done all you can, you just stand.

Tell me, how do you handle the guilt of your past?
And how do you deal with the shame?
And how can you smile while your heart has been broken
And filled with pain, filled with pain?
Tell me what do you give when you’ve given your all
And it seems like can’t make it through?
You just stand when there’s nothing left to do,
You just stand, watch the Lord see you through,
Yes, after you’ve done all you can, you just stand.

Sisters and brothers, no matter where you are along life’s road and no matter what situation or circumstance you presently occupy, you must stand.  As you persevere in the faith, you will be continually blessed!
