ALLOWING GOD TO RULE AND REIGN
The revealing autobiographical testimonial entitled “The
Confessions of Saint Augustine,” was required reading in our seminary. After surviving years of profound depravity,
Augustine eventually bowed at the foot of the cross. “Dear Lord,” he declared, “our hearts are
restless, and we find no rest at all until we rest in Thee.”
Regarding the human tendency toward rebellion against our
Creator, Augustine wrote: “Sin comes when we take a perfectly natural desire or
longing or ambition and try desperately to fulfill it without God. Not only is it sin, it is a perverse
distortion of the image of the Creator in us. All these good things, and all our security,
are rightly found only and completely in Him.”
Indeed, one can never be completely fulfilled until an
unconditional “yes” is offered to the Lord.
Sisters and brothers, be continually blessed, and
please (above all else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO MEET OUR SOON COMING KING.
Maranatha!
