BEHIND THE MASKS
In Basel, Switzerland the townspeople have an annual festival in which they don masks – going to places and doing things they would never consider under normal circumstances. It is their masks, that veil their identity and embolden them to do unusual things. One year, when the Salvation Army was deeply concerned about the abandonment of moral standards, they put up signs all over the city which simply read, “God sees behind the masks.” And He does.
No matter how hard we try to hide ourselves, whether under a pile of money, or in the guise of pretense, or in some secret corner we imagine to be known to no one else…GOD SEES. We must never forget that He always blesses the honest heart, the contrite spirit that is willing to be transparent enough to say, ‘It was my fault.’ (or) ‘I was wrong.’ (or) ‘I have sinned; I repent.’
My friends, let’s remove our masks and become the authentic beings of the Creator’s design. It will be an immeasurable benefit for ourselves, and for others.
