HONOR IS MISSION CRITICAL

HONOR IS MISSION CRITICAL

In Gary Smalley and John Trent’s  book entitled, “The Gift of Honor,” the authors reprise the following true story.  “Keith Hernandez is one of baseball’s top players. He is a lifetime .300 hitter who has won numerous Golden Glove awards for excellence in fielding. He also won a batting championship for achieving the highest average, and was honored as the Most Valuable Player in his league and in the World Series. Yet with all his accomplishments, he missed out on something crucially important to him -- his father’s acceptance and recognition that what he has accomplished has value.

In a candid interview about his relationship with his father, Keith recalled a challenging conversation with his father: 'Dad, I have a lifetime 300 batting average. What more do you want?' His father replied, 'But someday you’re going to look back and say, I could have done more.’”

My friends, that story represents a tragic and painful missed opportunity.  So let’s mutually respect and honor one another.  It’s the key to relationships, and to life.

Sisters and brothers, be continually blessed, and please (above all else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO MEET OUR SOON COMING KING. Maranatha!
