NO SHORTCUTS

NO SHORTCUTS

There are no easy answers in life.  Indeed, we must work our way through difficult moments and challenging circumstances.  Life is a process.  A constant search for shortcuts results in disappointment and limits on personal growth and development.

The Christian author, Philip Yancey, penned the following in his book, Disappointment With God.  “Human beings grow by striving, working, stretching; and in a sense, human nature needs problems more than solutions. Why are not all prayers answered magically and instantly? Why must every convert travel the same tedious path of spiritual discipline? Because persistent prayer, and fasting, and study, and meditation are designed primarily for our sakes, not for God’s. Kierkegaard said that Christians remind him of schoolboys who want to look up the answers to their math problems in the back of the book rather than work them through. We yearn for shortcuts. But shortcuts usually lead away from growth, not toward it.”

My friend, never disdain or avoid challenges.  A Chinese proverb says, “Every crisis has two heads, one of danger and one of opportunity.”  We must go through it (difficulty)…to get to it (destiny)!

Sisters and brothers, be continually blessed, and please (above all else) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO MEET OUR SOON COMING KING. Maranatha!
